Yoga as Self-Realization ~

Deep Yoga is a teaching style developed by Bhava Ram and Laura Plumb, Founders of the Deep Yoga School of Healing Arts.  The essence of this practice arises from the most ancient and sacred texts of Yoga, including the Vedas, Upanishads, Bhagavad-Gita and Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.

Deep Yoga applies this ancient wisdom to our modern times in Asana Practices that offer a passageway into healing, self-awareness, higher consciousness and liberation.  Ayurveda, the holistic sister science of Yoga, is infused into the practice for balance, harmony and energetic alignment.

In Deep Yoga classes, great emphasis is placed upon mastering the mind through inner Mantra and audible chanting, mastering our life vitality through Pranayama, and mastering the body through artful Asana (Yoga Poses & sequences).  These three components are woven together throughout practice to create a “Meditation in Motion,” in both powerfully energetic and healing restorative classes.

Through the application of this ancient wisdom, Deep Yoga students learn to open their hearts, access inner wisdom, deepen their compassion, expand their  consciousness and liberate themselves from the stress and anxiety that permeate our modern culture. At the same time, they build their Prana (vital life force) while greatly enhancing physical and emotional strength and flexibility.

Ultimately, Deep Yoga is a practice that lifts our Yoga up from our mats and brings it fully into our lives, aligning us into greater harmony with Nature and the Divine as we journey towards unfolding out fullest potential.  Through Deep Yoga, we cultivate greater balance, strength and flexibility not just in our bodies, but in all that we do in our lives.
